Oregon, July 2007
We spent most of July in Oregon.  First, we met our friends Richard and Barbara in Ashland.  We attended
two Shakespearean plays there and also went on a three-day Rogue River float trip through some beautiful
country in SW Oregon.  We also visited Crater Lake... an incredible place!

Then it was on to Bend to visit with our son David and his family.  While there we spent a lot of time with our
grandson Logan who is now seven.  He has really gown up since we saw him last.  We also met our newest
grandchild, Everett, who was born a few weeks before we arrived.   We had several breakfasts at David's
new restaurant (Cafe 3456').  He certainly is a talented chef... great food with a Northwest touch.    In Bend
we stayed in the nicest RV park of the trip... the Crown Viilla.

From Bend we traveled to Joseph, OR (NE Oregon), to spend some time with friends Ron and Terry.  They
live in Richmond, Virginia, but have a summer cabin on the Lostine River.  It was one of the most beautiful
places we visited on the trip.  Lots of great food and wine with Ron and Terry!

We then traveled to the coast of Oregon to spend a few days in Newport.  A beautiful place and we wished
we had allocated more time to that destination.  Wonderful scenery, seafood, and the best french fries we
have found anywhere (at the local Rogue Nation Brewery)!

Then it was up to Portland to attend an astronomy meeting (George) and visit with some friends.  Portland
is a great city....  too bad about all the rain!

night of Shakespeare in Ashland.
