Gamma Cygnus Complex
This image was taken October 2, 2007.  It is a composite of ten three-minute exposures and shows the
Gamma Cygnus Complex of emission nebula near the star Sadr (upper center).  During the fall, the
constellation Cygnus (The Swan) is located almost above us in the early part of the night.  The nebula
consists of areas of glowing hydrogen gas (red) caused by radiation from nearby stars.
